Suffolk County Traffic and Parking Violation Agency Driver Safety Programs

You are required by the Suffolk County Traffic Court to complete a Driver Safety Program.  Please refer to the Suffolk County Traffic Court Referral Form given to you by the Judge to determine what course you need to complete below.  Note:  National Safety Council is not responsible for drivers completing the wrong program.  Please be sure to choose the correct course.

IMPORTANT:  You have 2 days from the date of your notice to enroll and 30 days from the date of your notice to complete the assigned course. 

Also, once you register for a class, you cannot reschedule your class without permission from the Court. If you fail to appear on your scheduled class date, you will be prohibited from continuing in the program.

4-Hour Defensive Driving Course

Recognized for its leading-edge curriculum, our 10th edition delivers the most compelling and proven defensive driving techniques and collision prevention strategies.  This is the premier Defensive Driving Course of the National Safety Council.

Cost: $90

4-Hour Alive at 25 Course

Alive at 25 is a highly interactive 4-hour intervention program that zeros in on drivers ages 16 to 24, the group most likely to be involved in a fatal collision. Alive at 25 uses workbook exercises, group discussions, role-playing and short lectures to help keep young drivers safe on the road.

Cost: $90

8-Hour Attitudinal Dynamics of Driving

The eight-hour Defensive Driving Course, Attitudinal Dynamics of Driving, is aimed at changing behavior behind the wheel. Through this course drivers learn why they continue to have driving related problems and how they can take responsibility for their actions.

Cost: $165

90-Minute Online Distracted Driving Program

This course will educate drivers about the dangers of distracted driving, evaluate driving habits and behaviors and motivate them to reduce the risk while driving by applying best practices.

Note: If you are a commercial driver mandated to complete the class, you must complete the class within 72 hours in order to continue driving.

Cost: $25

Online Car Seat Basics

This e-learning takes approximately 60 minutes to complete.  Participants have the option to complete the entire training or a section on a specific stage.

There is no cost for this course.

 

  

Welcome to the Suffolk County Traffic and Parking Violation Agency Driver Safety Programs.  The Suffolk County Traffic and Parking Violation Agency has mandated that you complete one of the classes shown above.  You must register for class within 48 hours of receipt of your Suffolk County Traffic and Parking Violation Agency Driver Safety Course Referral Form.  Class must be completed by the judge-assigned deadline date indicate on the Referral Form.

National Safety Council (NSC) offers Suffolk County Traffic Court drivers the most relevant, leading-edge driver safety content to motivate and educate you to be safe and responsible.  NSC frequently updates our curriculum to keep the content current, relative and engaging.

You will receive a certificate upon successful completion of your assigned course.  You may be required to provide the certificate to the court as proof that you have passed the class.  Please refer to the court for specific direction.
