If I had known about defensive driving before, I probably could have avoided that fender bender.
The course was very cheap and informative. It was well worth my time!
Learning about defensive driving will make me a safer driver. I have never scanned intersections before but will definitely do so now.
I was never taught some of this info before, so thanks NSC!! This will make me a safer driver.
NSC Indiana Driver Safety Program engages you in our simple and fun defensive driving techniques. Our online course delivers the most relevant, leading-edge content to motivate and educate you to be a safe, responsible driver. And, you can immediately print your certificate of completion after successfully completing your course.
Once you complete the IN Driver Safety Program, NSC will send notification of your completion directly to the Indiana BMV on your behalf. We suggest that you check with the BMV within 7-10 business days after you complete your course to make sure everything has been processed on their end. It can take up to 10 business days for the BMV to process your completion, so please plan accordingly to meet your deadline. Your license may be suspended if you do not complete your course on time.
Please Note: If you are taking a course to satisfy a court order, you must deliver your certificate to your court.
State law provides that persons convicted of two or more traffic offenses within a 12-month period may be required to complete a BMV-approved Driver Safety Program (DSP). Individuals under 21 years of age are required to complete a DSP if, they are convicted of two or more traffic offenses, involved in two or more accidents, or a combination of the two. When the BMV is notified of these convictions, a DSP course must be completed within 90 days or driving privileges will be suspended. Notification of this requirement is mailed from the BMV. A court may also require an individual to complete a DSP course and use this requirement as an alternative to suspension of driving privileges; however, the court order may not specifically require participation in a BMV-approved DSP.
Any Indiana driver can take a DSP course. The BMV will apply a 4 point credit to an Indiana Official Driver Record for successful completion of a BMV-approved DSP. The credit may only be applied once every three years. However, if an additional course is completed, the time period of the credit will be extended for three years from the new course completion date.
Did the BMV send you a notice instructing you to complete a Driver Safety Program (DSP) or risk suspending your license? License already suspended? If either apply to you, you are eligible to take the NSC Indiana Approved Driver Safety Program. Didn’t get a notification? You can still take the NSC program to take advantage of the reduction of up to four points from your Indiana driving record once every 18 months. Employer suggesting you take the program? You can take our course anytime! Make sure to double check your dates so you comply on time. Don’t risk a suspension.
