About the Program

National Safety Council’s Illinois Mature Driver Program is a research-based driver safety course designed for drivers age 55 and older and approved by the Illinois Secretary of State. The curriculum focuses on promoting safe driving habits, increasing confidence behind the wheel, and helping mature drivers stay independent on today’s roadways.

Successful completion of the Illinois Mature Driver Program may qualify participants for an auto insurance discount, as permitted by Illinois state law. (Contact your insurance provider for eligibility details.)
