June 2006

BC's Office of the Superintendent of Motor Vehicles (OSMV) and Canada's Traffic Injury Research Foundation (TIRF) co-sponsored a two-day workshop in Vancouver June 15 & 16, with invited experts having international reputations, to work on developing agreement on best practices for assessing Functional Capacity for driving. This is a critical element in the editorial process for the next edition of the BC Guide to Drive, so that it meets the requirements of the Grismer case and is, as much as possible, evidence-based.
